Niobium Crucible Processing Method
Niobium Crucible can be classified into four types according to the processing methods, including stamping, machining, sintering, and welding. The detailed processes are as follows:
- Material Selection and Purification: High-purity niobium (99.9%+) is selected, and impurities are removed using methods like vacuum arc remelting (VAR).
- Melting and Casting: Niobium is melted in a vacuum arc furnace and then cast into ingots or billets for further processing.
- Hot Working: The niobium is forged or extruded into semi-finished shapes like discs or rods to improve grain structure and shape.
- Shaping and Forming: Niobium is stamped, pressed, or deep-drawn into crucible shapes, followed by machining for precise dimensions.
- Heat Treatment: Annealing or vacuum heat treatment is performed to relieve stresses and enhance strength and corrosion resistance.
- Surface Finishing: Grinding, polishing, and coating (if needed) are done to achieve a smooth surface and improve durability.
Niobium Crucible Applications
- Rare Earth Smelting: Niobium crucibles are able to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments, making them ideal for use in the smelting process of rare earth metals.
- High-temperature Sintering: Niobium crucibles are used for sintering ceramics, metal powders, and other materials in high-temperature sintering processes.
- Chemical Industry: Niobium crucibles are used as chemical-resistant containers for handling strong acids, alkalis, and other corrosive chemicals.
- Sputtering and Evaporation: Niobium crucibles are used for sputtering and evaporating materials in the physical vapor deposition (PVD) process to prepare thin films.
Niobium Crucible Packaging
The Niobium Crucible is carefully placed in wooden cases or cartons with additional support from soft materials to prevent any shifting during transportation. This packaging method guarantees the integrity of the products throughout the delivery process.
